Hello!
My name is Ryan Coody, and I am a photographer. My main focus is on sports and environmental portraits. I am currently based in the Kansas City area but am always willing to travel, and you can frequently find me covering sporting events all across the Midwest when I’m not visiting family and friends in the Ozarks.
I have been a photographer for many years now, moving from photojournalism into sports, and from portraits into editorial work. I love to see my photos in print and I’ve been lucky enough to have images published in several magazines and newspapers over the years.
I’m a member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma and a significant part of my work has been focused on Native American athletes. As the lead photographer for ndnsports.com, I’ve covered some of Indian Country’s most famous athletes such as Shoni Schimmel (WNBA), Jude Schimmel (NCAA-D1), Kyrie Irving (NBA), Chris Wondolowski (MLS), Keyshawn Whitehorse (PBR), Dakota Louis (PBR), James Winchester (NFL), Bronson Koenig (NCAA-D1), and Lindy Waters III (NBA-G League), among dozens of other NCAA, NAIA, and high school athletes.
In my early days I volunteered with an organization called The Sunrise Project, a farm-to-table non-profit based in Lawrence, Kansas, and was able to meet and photograph so many wonderful families and events. I’ve also volunteered for Bike MS and a few others as well. I’m always looking for great opportunities to give back so if you’re representing a non-profit, please get in touch.
If you've made it this far, you've likely browsed my images and stalked my social media accounts - let's talk! Email me with as much information as you can and I'll get back to you as quickly as possible.
Thank you!
Ryan
